An Egg Harbor Township man already facing drug charges was arrested Friday with gun and drugs on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, police said.
Curtis Drinks, 24, was seen rolling a marijuana cigarette on the Boardwalk around South Carolina Avenue just before 4 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said Monday.
Officers Diamond Fuentes and Sangenys Estrella-Garcia, who were on foot patrol, approached Drinks. As they did, he put a baggie into his backpack and then took a bag of marijuana from his pocket and dropped it over the railing onto the beach, Fair said.
Drinks was taken into custody.
While the officers were searching his backpack, they found a handgun, ammunition, 100 bags of heroin, 59 grams of marijuana and four grams of cocaine, according to the report.
It was Drinks' second arrest in the city in two months. He was one of eight people arrested on heroin and cocaine charges in July. At that time, he was released on a summons.
This time he was charged with drug and weapons offenses, including possession of a weapon by a convicted person. He also had a contempt of court charge.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where Drinks' alias is listed as Curtis Drakes.
But he's listed as Drakes by the state Department of Corrections, with Drinks as an alias.
That shows he was just released from prison in March.
Drinks is being held pending a detention hearing.

The Atlantic County Justice Facility no longer provides mugshots to the media, citing the Atlantic County prosecutor's order. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says it's part of the Attorney General's Guidelines. There is no such guideline, according to the Attorney General's Office, but they have told these offices for years that they should not release any photos that appear to be mugshots.
