Stockton grad gets probation in sex assault case

"You are the monster I see in my nightmares every night," the victim of a Wildwood bartender told him during sentencing Thursday.The woman told how she was raped by Zachary Madle inside her Stockton University dorm room in 2017, and then posted video of him touching her unconscious and naked. Madle, 26, was originally accused of sexually assaulting the woman, but pleaded guilty to lesser charges of invasion of privacy and fourth-degree sexual contact.He will not have to register as a sex offender.Under the plea agreement, he was given no jail time. He instead will serve five years probation.Madle also must perform community service.But no matter what plea deal he made, "you are a rapist and a thief," the victim's mother told Madle. She said she believes he will rape again, "and I will pray for your next victim."The victim was left in her room covered in her own vomit. If she hadn't turned her head, she likely would have died, her mother said.The victim, whose name is not being released, and another student also sued him civilly, alleging rape. Those cases have been settled.

Madle chose not to give a statement so as not to cause more pain, attorney Steve Scheffler said."He understands he caused irreparable harm," he said.

Stockton grad admits to invasion of privacy in sex assault case

A Stockton University graduate accused of sexually assaulting a student and then posting it on social media pleaded guilty to lesser charges Thursday.

Zachary Madle, 26, of Wildwood, faces no jail time under the plea agreement.

He also will not have to register as a Megan’s Law offender nor will he undergo an evaluation at Avenel Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center, his attorney noted during the hearing.

Madle admitted that he took video on his cell phone of the victim inside her dorm room on the Stockton University campus Feb. 15, 2017.
