Three Atlantic City men were arrested Friday with guns and drugs after a man was pistol whipped by them, police said.
Two loaded handguns, nearly 300 bags of heroin and more than $6,200 in cash were seized as a result, Sgt. Kevin Fair said Monday.
A man flagged down Officer Bayron Zelaya-Chavez at 10:35 Friday night at Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard and Arctic Avenue, saying he had been robbed and pistol-whipped by three men in the 1600 block of Atlantic Avenue.
The 48-year-old city resident had a laceration on his head and said that two of the men were armed with handguns, Fair said. The victim pointed out three men on Arctic Avenue.
Zelaya-Chavez radioed for additional units, and saw the three men get into a vehicle, according to the report.The officers ordered the men to get out, and that is when the found two loaded handguns, 223½ grams of cocaine, 295 bags of heroin, 87 oxycodone pills and 42 OxyContin pills inside the vehicle, Fair said. One of the guns had been reported stolen from South Carolina.
Brian Wilson, Ahmad Martin and Taron Burnside were charged with robbery, conspiracy, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of prescription drugs, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, receiving stolen property, aggravated assault and theft.
Wilson, 51, and Martin, 24, were additionally charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
All three are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
