A Camden County man on parole for a gun conviction is now charged with shooting an Atlantic City man last month.
Darren Nedrick, 23, of Sicklerville, is accused in a June 25 shooting in the 300 block of Tennessee Avenue.
Police arrived to the scene just before 5 p.m. to find that a 27-year-old man had been wounded and sent to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus.
An investigation by the city's Violent Crimes Unit led charges against Nedrick.
He was arrested Saturday in the 800 block of New Hampshire Avenue by Detective Brian Hambrecht and Officer Kerry Dunbar.
Nedrick was paroled Oct. 1, more than a year before he would have maxed out on a weapons conviction, Department of Corrections records show.
It was not the first time Nedrick got arrested while out from another charge.
In November 2017, the then-Atlantic City resident was out awaiting sentencing when he was arrested with a loaded handgun.
The arrest happened a month before he was supposed to be sentenced for shots fired outside the Uptown School Complex.
He is now charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He likely will also be charged with possession by a felon.
Nedrick is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing. He also could face a return to prison due to the alleged violation.
