A Brigantine man accused of killing his wife in a brutal attack was ordered held in jail Friday.
Robert Declementi, 36, allegedly beat his wife with a hammer during an argument inside their Girard Place home
When police arrived in the early morning of Aug. 22, a bloody Declementi told them his wife had admitted to an affair when she came home that night.
Rachel Declemenit's body was found in the front entryway, but the scene indicated she was killed in a rear room and dragged through the kitchen and into the front area, according to the affidavit.
Robert Declementi is "clearly a danger to the public safety," Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury said in detaining him.
The judge noted that during a domestic argument, Declementi "responded with brutal and lethal violence."
