A Snapchat photo showing the mention of a shooting sparked an investigation in Egg Harbor Township.
The photo shows a cinder block wall with writing that reads, “HHS shooting 12/10/21,” according to an email the district sent to parents.
The message was not located on the walls or bathroom at the township High School, police confirmed to BreakingAC.
A high school student brought it to the administration’s attention.
“After alerting our security and emergency management, we have found it not to be written on any walls in EHTHS, nor is it mentioning EHTHS,” Superintendent Kimberly Gruccio wrote. “We are always on high alert when a shooting is mentioned and we have shared with local schools.
“We feel confident our students are safe and we applaud the students for sharing with the high school administration so it could be investigated,” she continued. “We encourage our school community to follow the ‘See something, Say something’ motto.”
Additional police personnel are being placed at all schools of the East Windsor Regional School District after the threat was found Wednesday, the news outlet reported.
The threat was scribbled on the wall of the boy’s bathroom at Hightstown High School (HHS), according to pictures circulating on social media. It was a student who reported the writing to HHS staff, school authorities said.
“The East Windsor Police Department is aware of the incident,” Detective Sgt. Thomas Meyer told Patch.
He said there would be officers at each of the three East Windsor schools for the day.
