Four teens have been charged in the stabbing of a Ventnor man who tried to stop them from harassing a Walmart shopper, police said.
Stephen Tuohy, 29, had facial injuries and a stab wound to his arm when police arrived at the Egg Harbor Township store around 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the report.
Tuohy was attempting to intervene when the suspects were harassing another shopper, when they then attacked him, police said.
After the assault, the suspects fled into the parking lot.
They were then located by police and arrested.
Luis Murillo-Suarez, 18, of Edison, Middlesex County, is charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses and was being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Ankur Bhomik and Robert Lyall, both 18 and from Atlantic City. were arrested along with a juvenile and charged with aggravated assault. They were released on summonses.
The investigation was conducted by Officer Thomas Becker, with the assistance of Officers Benjamin Kollman, Nathan Lahr and Christopher Wagner.
