Pedestrian fatally struck in Egg Harbor Township

An Egg Harbor Township pedestrian was fatally struck as he crossed the Black Horse Pike early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the area in front of the Holiday in Express in the township’s West Atlantic City section at about 2:30 a.m., Capt. Fred Spano said.
John DiPasquale, 29, of Ventnor, was traveling east on the inside lane when the man walked directly into the lane of traffic, according to the report.
Norberto Hernandez, 32, of Pleasantville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eastbound traffic on the Black Horse Pike was detoured for about four hours during the investigation.
This crash is being investigated by Sgt. Larry Graham, and Officers Jim Ludwig and Officer Ed Stearns.
