A Mays Landing man was allegedly found with a loaded gun when Atlantic City police arrested him after drug deals.
Police were conducting surveillance in the first block of South Texas Avenue on Monday, when they saw a man conduct several drug deals, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.
Jamal Morgan tried to run as officers approached him just before 10 p.m., but was quickly detained, according to the report.
Morgan, 25, was found with about three grams of crack cocaine in baggies, and $103 in cash, Aristizabal said.
A search after his arrest led to a loaded revolver in a satchel he was carrying, according to the report.
Morgan had open warrants related to several incidents of driving on a suspended license, court records show.
The investigation was led by Detective Alberto Valles with the assistance of Detectives Eric Evans and Nick Berardis.
Morgan is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, distribution in a school zone and possession of a weapon during a drug-distribution offense.
