A man wounded in an Atlantic City shooting ran into City Hall for help Wednesday afternoon, the mayor confirmed.
The shooting happened in the 100 block of N. South Carolina Avenue, Mayor Marty Small told BreakingAC.
No arrests have been made, police said.
The 25-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Small was angered by a report from local radio personality Harry Hurley saying that someone from his One Neighborhood Evolution anti-violence unit was arrested.
He said Hurley’s “goal in life is to discredit this administration.”
Hurley did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
There was also a heavy police presence at Schoolhouse Apartments. It was not immediately clear whether it was connected to the shooting.
