An Atlantic City teen was arrested and a gun recovered after police were alerted by ShotSpotter early Friday morning.
The audio gunshot-detection alert came just after 1 a.m. in the 100 block of North Delaware Avenue, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.
Officer Zayon Pitts arrived to find a home with three people inside had been struck, according to the report. No one was injured.
Pitts saw three males walking along Moore Avenue, who ran when they saw the officer, Aristizabal said.
Officers Jonathan Revolus and Julian Monsalve captured the teen in the 500 block of Drexel Avenue after a brief chase, according to the report.
A handgun was recovered near where the 16-year-old was apprehended, Aristizabal said.
He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, along with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, criminal mischief, obstruction and resisting arrest.
He was taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
