A Mays Landing woman was allegedly drunk when she struck a NJ Transit bus letting passengers off in Egg Harbor Township, police said.
Police were called to the intersection of the Black Horse Pike and English Creek Avenue near Lowe's at about 3:42 Sunday morning, Lt. Ken Marchelle said.
The bus driven by Aneudy Depena was letting passengers off in the shoulder of the westbound lane when a westbound Kia Seltos crossed the fog line and struck the read of the bus, according to the report.
There were nine passengers onboard, with five sustaining minor injuries, Marchelle said. Three were taken to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point for treatment.
The Kia's driver, Kennedy Doughty, was issued several motor vehicle charges including driving while intoxicated, Marchelle said. Additionally criminal charges are pending.
The intersection westbound was closed for about an hour, while the crash was being investigated by Officer Nathan Lahr.
