An Atlantic City teen was sentenced to five years in prison in a daylight shooting that wounded a man near Richmond Avenue School.
He also has gang ties, according to information released at his detention hearing in February.
Tinitigan shot at the victim twice, striking him once in the lower leg.
The shooting was captured on video and witnessed by a retired police officer, according to information released in court.
Through surveillance footage, witness interviews, and cell tower analysis, investigators identified Tinitigan as the shooter.
After seeing the victim in public, Tinitigan returned home, disguised himself, retrieved a handgun and then shot at A.S. before fleeing on foot.
The case was investigated by the Violent Crimes Unit. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit prosecuted the case.
Tinitigan must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. He will then have three years of supervised release.
