Four Atlantic City men were arrested and a large amount of cocaine and heroin seized in a drug bust Wednesday, police said.
The Special Investigations Section were watching a home in the 1300 block of Caspian Avenue that was being used to store and distribute narcotics, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
When James Clegg Jr., one of the targets, was stopped in a car with Alvin Whitaker, detectives found 50 bags of heroin and more than $8,400 in cash, Fair said.
Juan Howard, 30, who was nearby and arrested on a warrant, also had his vehicle searched, where police recovered more than an ounce of cocaine, according to the charges.
A warrant led to a search of the Caspian Avenue residence, where detectives found more than a pound of cocaine, 10,260 individual bags of heroin and paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics, Fair said.
The investigation was led by Detective Eric Evans.
Whitaker, 31, also has a pending drug case from January, court records show.
Whitaker, Howard and Clegg, 33, were charged with multiple drug crimes, along with money laundering and conspiracy. They were jailed.
Donte Howard, 37, was also arrested on drug charges. He was released on a summons.
