Atlantic City welcomes a dozen new officers

Atlantic City welcomed a full-time officer and 11 Class II officers this past week.

A ceremony was held Thursday at the Atlantic City Convention Center featuring Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynolds as the keynote speaker.

Rashawn Cochran was brought on as a full-time officer.

The Special Law Enforcement Class II officers of much of the same powers as full-time officers but are limited on their hours and only have officer powers while on duty.

Police Chief James Sarkos and Deputy Chief Stacy Herrerias presented each Atlantic City officer with their graduation certificate.  

New Class II Officer Thomas Egan was presented with the Thomas J. McMeekin Jr. Emergency Vehicle Operations Award, which honors the fallen Atlantic City officer whose name it bears.

The other new officers are Danny Feliciano, Nicholas Fifer, Odalys Filippi-Sarmiento, Ridge Gradel, Vincent Nguyen, Brandon Solano, Casey Tomasello, Bryan Tracy, Andrew Xiques and Patrick Yates.
