Multiple fire companies battled a blaze Thursday afternoon that burned a storage facility in Egg Harbor Township.
Police were called to the U-Haul storage facility at 6312 Black Horse Pike just after 1 p.m., Lt. Ernest Dunson said.
When they arrived, Building A was engulfed in flames, according to the report.
The township's volunteer firefighters initiated a coordinated response, deploying multiple fire engines, ladder trucks and support personnel, Dunson said.
The conditions were challenging, including heavy smoke and flames, according to the report. But firefighters were able to keep is from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Fire companies from Northfield, Mays Landing, the 177th Fighter Wing and the Atlantic City International Airport also arrived on scene
About 50 units were damaged.
The township's Fire Inspection Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
