A Wildwood man arrested in a bloody attack on a woman was released from state prison in June.

Terrance Dore, 43, was arrested in Atlantic City on Sunday, two weeks after he allegedly stabbed a woman inside Wildwood apartment.

The two had a relationship at one point, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.

Dore has a history of domestic violence, court records show. He was paroled from prison June 29, after serving time on two counts of aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim from 2020, along with a Feb. 14, 2022 simple assault.

The assault last year was on his then-girlfriend, who told police he slapped her in the head several times, knocking her off a chair and causing her to cut her leg, according to the affidavit in that case.

A different woman was the alleged victim in the stabbing earlier this month.

Wildwood police were called to the 100 block of West Poplar Avenue just before 9 p.m. Sept. 10, according to the affidavit.

An elderly woman told police that a female was banging on her door saying, "I just got stabbed."

The caller told police she did not answer the door out of fear, and instead called 911, the report states.

Police found the victim in the area of Glenwood and New Jersey avenues with stab wounds to her back and chest, the affidavit states. The woman said her attacker was Dore.

Wildwood Rescue immediately performed life-saving measures and transported the victim to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus due to the seriousness of her injuries, according to Wildwood police.

The preliminary investigation indicated a possible suspect was barricaded inside a West Poplar Avenue apartment.

A multi-block perimeter was set up by the Cape May County Regional SWAT team responded and set up a multi block perimeter to ensure public safety.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Crisis Negotiation Team responded to assist, with the man inside eventually exited and was found to be a witness.

He told police he was in the apartment with the pair when he heard a commotion coming from the back bedroom and went in to find the victim on the floor bleeding and Dore standing over her, the affidavit states.

The witness told police that the victim stood up after a few minutes and ran from the apartment. Dore grabbed his backpack and fled, he said.

The investigation — which included the analysis of DNA evidence — led to Dore being charged. Police released his photo publicly and warned that he was armed and dangerous.

Dore was arrested at about 4 p.m. Sunday in Atlantic City. Police did not specify his exact location.

He is now in the Cape May County jail awaiting a detention hearing. He also is listed as being in state Department of Corrections custody, which could move to have him serve the remainder of his sentence, which currently lists a maximum date of Aug. 24, 2025.
