A Camden County man was allegedly driving at an excessive speed when he caused a crash that killed a former Vineland woman earlier this month, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Stephen Sirch, 30, of Voorhees, is charged with vehicular homicide in the April 3 crash on the Black Horse Pike.
Karina Castillo, of Clementon, Hunterdon County, died at the scene.
The two vehicles were traveling west when there was contact, pushing Castillo's vehicle across the center media and into the eastbound lane, police said at the time.
An oncoming car driven by Diana Hernandez-Ramos, 40 of Hammonton, struck Castillo's vehicle.
Hernandez-Ramos and two adult passengers were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus. A juvenile passenger was taken to Cooper. None of their injuries were life-threatening.
Castillo had recently turned 29 and had a baby girl, according to her obituary. She used to live in Vineland, where her parents still reside.
Sirch is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
