Longtime Municipal Court Judge Rosenberger retires

The Board of Commissioners Wednesday, Dec. 18 honored longtime municipal court Judge John H. Rosenberger for his many years of service to the residents of Longport.

Rosenberger announced his plans to retire after 49 years as an attorney and municipal court judge in various Atlantic County municipalities. He was Longport’s municipal court judge from 2009 to this year.

Rosenberger thanked the Board of Commissioners for their confidence and support during his tenure.

Rosenberger was admitted to the NJ State Bar Association and the U.S. District Court in December 1975 following his graduation from Villanova School of Law. He practiced law in Atlantic County continually since then. He was also a trustee of the Atlantic County Bar Association, a member of the NJ Supreme Court District 1 Ethics Committee and a trustee and president of Cape Atlantic Legal Services. He was also a trustee and vice president of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

The board thanked him for his distinguished service and proclaimed the day in his honor.
