Three arrested for allegedly breaking into Atlantic City home

A man recently released for stealing a car in Absecon was one of three people accused of burglarizing an Atlantic City home this weekend.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Indiana Avenue for a burglary in process just before 2 a.m. Saturday, Lt. Kevin Fair said.

Witnesses said several people had gone into the rear of the home, according to the report.

Officers arrived to find the lock damaged and pry marks, Fair said. Officers established a perimeter around the home and tried to call the owner, but were unsuccessful.

Police then ordered those inside to come out, resulting in two men and a woman being taken into custody. They found a hammer inside that was believed to have been used to break in to the home, Fair said.

One of the men, Sirjackie Bryant III, was released from jail in May, after a detention hearing on charges he stole a vehicle from a car dealership and then led Absecon police on a chase.

Bryant, 35, claimed someone sold him the car.

The judge found he could be released with conditions, and would not be a threat.

Since then, Bryant was arrested in August on charges of simple assault, obstruction and resisting. It seems his release was not revoked at that time.

He is back in jail along with Ryshakeda English, 35, and Daniel Mack Jr., 44, both of Atlantic City.

All three are charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, obstruction of justice and hindering apprehension.

The current charges list Bryant as living in Camden, but his previous charges and the detention hearing had him as an Atlantic City resident.
