Absecon police handed out 61 speed-related violations Friday during a four-hour campaign targeting aggressive driving.
The targeted enforcement on the Route 30 corridor was sponsored by the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office,
The primary goal is to reduce serious injuries and fatalities, thereby providing a safer route of travel on our highways, Capt Jeffrey Mazer said. Aggressive driving behaviors, including speeding, are major contributors to traffic crashes.
This campaign is expected to continue throughout the summer.
The department expressed appreciation for the support of Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office and its partnership with the Atlantic City Police Department.
