Philadelphia man allegedly brandished gun at Atlantic City security guard

  • Crime-Courts

A Philadelphia man was arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun at a security guard and fled.

Police were called to the Atlantic Palace in the 1500 block of the Boardwalk just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, after the incident, Capt. Kevin Fair said.

Officer Danny Feliciano viewed surveillance footage of the altercation between the guard and the suspect, who was identified as Andrew Ibechem, 29.

Officers then learned Ibechem was staying at the hotel.

Officer John Bell took him into custody.

Police then got a search warrant for Ibechem’s room and vehicle, and found two handguns, ammunition and two knives, Fair said.

Ibechem was charged with four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault and certain person not to possess a weapon.

It appeared his criminal history may be out of state.

Ibechem is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
