  • Crime-Courts

A shots fired call in Atlantic City led to the arrest of a 15-year-old Millville boy armed with a gun, police said.

Officers were called to the area of New Jersey and Arctic avenues just before midnight Monday, Capt. Kevin Fair said.

The arriving officers found evidence of gunfire, and learned the potential suspects who fled the area were juveniles, according to the report.

Officers Francis Malloy and Alex Torres located and detained several juvenile males in the first block of South New Jersey Avenue. Officers Louis Scarlata and Andrew Pellegrino recovered a loaded handgun from one teen.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of an extended magazine and possession of hollow-point ammunition. He was sent to the Morris County Detention Facility.

Four other teens from Millville were arrested for curfew violations, and released to a parent or guardian.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
