5-year-old airlifited after being struck in Atlantic City

A 5-year-old child had to be airlifted after being struck by a vehicle Friday evening.

The crash happened at 5:48 p.m. in the 2600 block of Fairmount Avenue, Capt. Kevin Fair said.

The driver stayed on the scene. No name was released.

The child was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the report.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is assisting in this investigation.
