The South Jersey Players are offering a workshop for young playwrights starting next month in Ventnor.
The young writers and actors will then get to present their work at a "Festival of New Works."
Those ages 11 to 15-year-old can enroll for four sessions costing $180 per person.
The workshops run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the Ventnor City Cultural Arts Center at 6500 Atlantic Ave., beginning Nov. 2 and ending Nov. 23.
The “Festival of New Works” to be held Dec. 7 and 8 at Ventnor Coffee, 108 N. Dorset Ave. The festival will include student readings of their new plays featuring youth group actors.
There also will be 10-minute plays by mentor playwrights, Sonda Mandel and Edward Shakespeare. Mandel also will help facilitate the workshop.
Other local playwrights who plan to mentor the young writers are South Jersey Player regulars Jim O’Hara and Tom Chin.
