The Atlantic City Community Fund made about  $100,000 at its fundraiser at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City earlier this month.

The money is to support local nonprofits in the city.

“We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors and donors for their generous support, which allows us to continue our work in the community,” fund board President Ben Zeltner said. “Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of many in Atlantic City.”

Honorees at the reception included Mayor Marty Small, CRDA Executive Director Eric Scheffler, Vice President of Community and Business Development Christina Fuentes on behalf of New Jersey Economic Development Authority President Tim Sullivan, Atlantic Cape Community College President Dr. Barbara Gaba, and Evan Sanchez, co-founder of Authentic City Partners and Founder, Thrive AC Fund.

State Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Jacquelyn Suarez — who oversees the city — was the special honored guest.

The funds raised will be allocated to various local nonprofits dedicated to addressing critical needs and enhancing the quality of life for residents, according to the group.

The Atlantic City Community Fund’s mission is to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the conditions within Atlantic City. To this end, the Fund focuses on promoting endowment building, community engagement, grant making, organizational collaboration, and public leadership, ensuring that all stakeholders benefit from its initiatives.
