An Egg Harbor Township man is jailed in connection with a shooting that wounded a man in Pleasantville.

Khaleef Wilson, 35, set up a meeting with the victim in the 1300 block of South New Road as the two talked through the dating app Grindr, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.

The two men previously had a dating relationship about five years ago, according to the narrative.

But when the victim got there, Wilson allegedly started shooting.

As the victim ran, Wilson fled in the man's truck, BreakingAC previously reported.

A resident called police at about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 1, saying a man  knocked on their door in the 1200 block of Columbia Avenue.

Patrol arrived to find the victim with a gunshot wound to the right side of his neck.

He gave Wilson's name.

Wilson told investigators that he was home at the time of the shooting. But both his personal and work phone put him at the scene of the shooting, the investigation found.

He is charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. No one else has been charged at this time.

Wilson had a brief appearance before Judge Billie Moore on Friday via video from the jail. At that time, he was informed that he would be held pending a detention hearing set for Thursday, a day after he turns 36.

When asked if he needed the charge read to him, Wilson told the judge, "No I don't need you to. I'm fine."

In 2013, Wilson was arrested in Las Vegas in connection with prostituting a child, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported

He was charged with one count of receiving the earnings of a prostitute and two counts each of kidnapping, pandering of a child, transporting a child for prostitution, coercion or threat with force and child abuse or neglect.

The outcome of that case was not clear.
