Wind knocks down Atlantic City traffic light

  • Public Safety

Atlantic City police are directing traffic after the wind apparently knocked down a traffic light Sunday.

The pole was down at the intersection of New Jersey and Pacific avenues.

It is believed to have been caused by wind, said Fire Chief Scott Evans, who heads the city's Office of Emergency Management.

Public Works was handling it, Mayor Marty Small said. There was a contractor on standby, if needed.

Drivers should use caution in that area.
