Atlantic City man arrested in burglary two weeks after being sentenced on theft charge

Keith Faulkner (N.J. Department of Corrections)

An Atlantic City man sentenced earlier this month on a theft charge was allegedly back at it this week.

Keith Faulkner, 45, was arrested after officers in the Atlantic City Police Department’s surveillance center identified him using the Boardwalk camera system, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.

Faulkner allegedly smashed in the door of a store on the 1700 block of the Boardwalk, then left with $3,000 worth of lottery tickets. He caused more than $1,000 in damages, according to the report.

Using the surveillance cameras, officers found the suspect entering the store at 6:13 a.m.

They sent out a description, and a short time later, Sgt. Kevin Scanlon stopped Faulkner in the 500 block of Indiana Avenue.

Faulkner had a large amount of lottery tickets on him, and was arrested. He was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

He also had an active warrant.

Faulkner was just sentenced Sept. 6 on a theft charge from March, court records show.

He has a history of burglary, thefts and shoplifting dating to at least 2011, when he was arrested for taking $2,000 worth of cigarettes from Rite Aid. Faulkner is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
