Three Atlantic City teens have been arrested in the carjacking of a Lyft driver.
The 22-year-old Burlington man was assaulted after picking up four males and a female Monday night, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The suspects fled in the vehicle after assaulting the victim, spraying him with mace and then throwing him from the car, he told police.
Police were called to the 200 block of Melrose Avenue at 6:31 p.m.
The victim was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment.
Just before 2 the next morning, Officer Erica Bonfiglio spotted the stolen vehicle, Fair said.
Shawn McCann, 18; Talibah McCoy, 19, and a 16-year-old boy were all in the car and arrested, Fair said.
They are each charged with robbery, carjacking, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault and theft.
McCann and McCoy are additionally charged with employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime. They both were taken to the Atlantic City Justice Facility.
The juvenile was taken to Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
Detectives are continuing their investigation in an attempt to identify the two other male suspects, Fair said.
