An Egg Harbor Township crash led to the occupants of a car being airlifted for treatment Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to 2200 block of Ocean Heights Avenue, near Praise Tabernacle for a one-car crash.
A 2001 Toyota Avalon driven by Joseph Vanderhoff was traveling south when he left the road and struck a utility pole and a tree, police said.
Vanderhoff, 28, of Somers Point, and his passenger were airlifted to Cooper Medical Center, police said.
The extent of injuries is not known at this time.
Southbound traffic on Ocean Heights was detoured for about two hours.
Officers Robert Moran and James Ludwig are investigating, along with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Egg Harbor Township Traffic Safety Unit at 609-926-2643.
