A man accused of trying to lure a Mays Landing young girl into his SUV was sentenced to 364 days in jail Friday.
Talal Aridi was arrested in July, after he allegedly took pictures of the 11-year-old girl and tried to give her a ride.
Aridi, 35, of Mays Landing, pleaded guilty in the case along with a burglary charge that had been pending at the time. He also pleaded to violating a restraining order, of driving by the girl’s house after a sex offender restraining order was granted upon his release in July.
Defense attorney Holly Bitters asked that Aridi be released having already served 278 days of his sentence.
He has been in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since July 31, when he was arrested after the girl’s mother saw him drive by their home.
Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Waldman called for Aridi to serve his full sentence, under the plea.
Upon his release, Aridi will serve five years’ probation. He also must register as a Megan's Law offender.
