Atlantic City police made two drugs arrests in two days on the same street this week, recovering more than 300 bags of heroin.
Detectives Darrin Lorady, Alberto Valles and Nicholas Berardis were on surveillance in the first block of Florida Avenue when they saw Roger Serrano loitering, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Serrano, 24, was sentenced to three years' probation last year in a drug and gun case and the detectives found he had an active warrant, according to court records.
Serrano was arrested and found to have 270 bags of heroin, along with six grams each of cocaine and marijuana, Fair said.
The next day, Lorady returned to the street with Detective Chris Smith, where they arrested Ronnie Jones, Fair said.
Jones, 48, of Atlantic City, had 68 bags of heroin, 24 bags of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, according to the report.
Both men were charged with possession and intent to distribute, along with intent to distribute in a school zone.
They were released on summonses.
It was the third drug case on that street within a week.
Five people were arrested Dec. 4, after residents' complaints of drug distribution on that street led to a months-long investigation of Justin Suarez.
