EHT man gets five years for distribution of 50-150 kilos of cocaine

  • News

A Egg Harbor Township man was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison after admitting to dealing multiple kilograms of cocaine.

Lester Santana, 53, and his co-conspirators would fly from Philadelphia to San Juan, Puerto Rico on numerous occasions from March 2019 to August 2020, and would buy multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine.

They would then ship the drugs overnight delivery from post offices in San Juan to various addresses in South Jersey and Philadelphia.

Santana previously pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.

After the cocaine shipments were delivered, a conspirator resold the cocaine to other drug dealers in the Philadelphia area for a profit. Santana admitted that he was jointly responsible for the possession with intent to distribute and distribution of 50 to 150 kilograms of cocaine.

Santana will be subject to five years of parole supervision upon his release.

Two conspirators, Jose Gonzalez and Iran Soler, previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.

Soler's sentencing is set for Nov. 6. Gonzalez is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 4.
